Heroes come in all sizes. In Oklahoma, a blind, deaf, three-legged Dachshund can now add hero to his description.

Earlier this week, "True" barked and whined until his owner responded.

“I thought he had to go outside,” Katie Crosley told reporters at KFOR.“ When I opened the door, it was a wall of flames.”

An electrical short ignited a fireball on the front porch, barricading the woman and her infant son inside.

But, they worked their way through the smoke and got out the back door.

The fire victims lost everything, including all the baby supplies they had just collected.

There is little left yet, Katie is grateful for so many things, mostly the disabled Dachshund nobody wanted.

“We’re thankful for him. This could have been a bad deal," she told reporters.
