Dec. 12--A hydroplaning pickup truck crashed into the gas pumps of a Gray Highway convenience store Wednesday morning, sending flames and black smoke into the air.

A Macon Water Authority worker was stopped at the pumps at the corner of Shurling Drive when the accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Josh Fennelle got out of the MWA truck, which was damaged when the impact from the crash of the Dodge Ram pickup knocked the gas pump over.

No one appeared to be hurt at the scene.

The store clerk immediately hit the emergency switch that shuts off the gasoline flow, but the flames had spread to the MWA vehicle.

Macon-Bibb County firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
