Dec. 26--BLAINE -- Firefighters believe they have contained a fire inside a giant roaster at Golden Nut Company on Odell Road.

The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 1555 Odell. When firefighters arrived, they reported heavy black smoke coming from a building.

Several fire trucks were dispatched, because they were not sure how big the industrial fire had grown.

After about 45 minutes, firefighters told dispatchers they believed the fire to be contained to the roaster, but they were checking various parts of the building to ensure it had not spread. The building still was filled with smoke, but the building exterior appeared intact.

Officials at the Golden Nut Company, a plant that manufactures peanut butter, declined immediate comment, saying they would have a statement shortly. It appeared all employees had safely fled the building. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
