Dec. 28-- A suspected arson at a Tulsa apartment complex caused as much as $40,000 worth of damage early Thursday, the Tulsa Fire Department reported.
The blaze, reported shortly after 1 a.m. at the Pomeroy Park Apartments at 68th Street and South Lewis Avenue, caused fire damage to one of the apartments as well as smoke and water damage to three other units, Capt. Stan May said.
Two adults and a 2-year-old child had to be rescued from the apartment that sustained fire damage, but no injuries were reported, he said.
Gasoline was detected at the site of the fire, and investigators believe that the blaze was intentionally set, May said.
Officials were looking for Kenneth Demarco Ferguson, 20, who May said was not regarded as a suspect but was deemed a "person of interest" who might have information about the fire's origins, he said.
Anyone with information about the fire can contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677) or at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers.
