A fire in East Boston caused about $600,000 to a wood apartment building that caught fire just yards from a fire station. Two people were treated for smoke inhalation.

Feb. 05--The Boston Fire Department reports 21 people were displaced by a raging five-alarm fire at a three-story wood apartment building on Sumner Street in East Boston late last night that took more than seven hours to contain.
The cause of the blaze -- which broke out just 50 yards from a firehouse -- remains under investigation.
Two civilians were treated for smoke inhalation. The fire department estimates damages to be around $600,000.
