California Firefighters Halt Vineyard Blaze

The Fresno blaze destroyed an outbuilding and damaged several vehicles.

Fresno firefighters have brought a vineyard fire under control near Kerman on Friday morning.

The blaze destroyed an outbuilding and damaged several vehicles near California and Jamison avenues.

Fire Captain Tony Escobedo said a firefighter was en route to Kerman when he saw a column of smoke coming from the building and found a woman trying to put out the flames.

Escobedo called for help. Firefighters arrived and prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby home.

The cause is under investigation and the amount of damage being assessed.
