March 05--Las Vegas is conducting a nationwide search for its next fire chief and hopes to make a hire by this summer, the city said in a news release.
Candidates will have until April 5 to submit their resumes, and the city will interview selected applicants starting in May. California-based CPS HR Consulting will help the city in its search for a fee of $25,000.
Former Chief Mike Myers retired in February to move with his family to Chicago.
The fire chief is responsible for managing and overseeing Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, which includes more than 600 employees, 19 fire stations, 2 support stations and a $111.1 million budget.
