March 31--Seven people were injured, four seriously, after a sheriff's patrol car and a six-passenger van collided in downtown Los Angeles Sunday morning.
The crash occurred on the 100 block of Arcadia Street at about 10:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Both vehicles rolled over and firefighters had to used the jaws of life to extricate occupants.
Katherine Main, spokeswoman for the fire department, said a deputy and the six occupants of the van were transported to local hospitals. Three of those injured were listed in fair condition and four in serious condition.
Los Angeles Police Department's traffic division was investigating the collision, but officials at the central traffic division station did not have any further details on the circumstances of the crash.
