After being ejected from the back on an ambulance, a patient called 911 to report the wreck.

The medics with AmeriMed ambulance were injured in the crash on I-575 early Sunday.

The patient and the EMS providers were transported to Marietta’s Kennestone Hospital, according to a statement from Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

The crash is being investigated by Georgia Highway Patrol.
