Bryce Reed walked out of jail into his mother's arms Thursday evening.

A former West, Texas medic charged with possessing bomb making materials was released from jail on Thursday.

A federal magistrate set bail at $25,000, and said Bryce Reed can live with his mother while he awaits trial in September, according to the Waco Tribune.

Reed, 31, walked out of McLennan County Jail, and into the arms of his mother two hours after the magistate's ruling. He didn't comment to reporters.

Earlier this month, Texas Rangers said Reed had no connection to the deadly April blast in West that left 10 responders dead including his best friend, Cyrus Reed.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Frazier opposed Reed’s release, saying he is a danger to the community because he had the incendiary materials, the paper reported.

But, Reed’s attorney, Jonathan Sibley, argued that federal pretrial services officials recommended he be released.

Sibley said Reed and his family are “thrilled” with the judge’s decision, reporters noted.

Reed, a former paramedic, who helped evacuate and care for victims after the fertilizer plant explosion was outspoken and critical of the investigation.
