Crews Contain Fire at Calif. Carpet Warehouse

Oct. 20--STOCKTON -- Fire crews worked quickly Saturday to extinguish a blaze inside a warehouse in an industrial complex near Farmington Road and Highway 99, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 4:32 p.m. after police arrived in response to an alarm in the 2200 block of Stagecoach Road, officials said.

Stockton firefighters arrived moments later aboard Engine 12 to find a fire and heavy smoke in a warehouse filled with rolls of carpet, authorities said.

The fire started in a bathroom and spread to the attic, officials said.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames, limiting damage to the building, authorities said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
