Rig Careens off Calif. Causeway after Blowout

A tire blowout sent a fire truck off a California highway and into a ditch Monday.

The driver suffered minor injuries, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The engine from the California Medical Facility in Vacaville was not on a call when the crash happened on I-80. 

The hose and other equipment was strewn along the shoulder and embankment.

The causeway was closed for hours while the equipment and the rig were removed.
