The family escaped from the house unharmed.

Firefighters from the Upper Marlboro area were alerted to a house fire in the 3700 block of Endsley Place on Tuesday afternoon.

They encountered heavy fire showing from the 2,200 square-foot house with an attached, converted garage. The blaze caused about $200,000 damage, according to Prince George's County officials.

The occupants escaped unharmed prior to the fire department’s arrival.

It required 35 minutes for the 45 firefighter/medics to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, however, appears to be accidental.
