Dec. 13--FORT WALTON BEACH -- Firefighters rescued three dogs Friday afternoon from a burning storage building behind the Circle K store on Racetrack Road.

No one was in the building when the blaze was reported about noon, according to the Ocean City-Wright Fire Department.

Firefighters pried open the door and were able to get two of the three dogs out immediately, Battalion Chief Scott Funchess said. A third dog was found later and also rescued.

The fire likely started from a table saw that had been left plugged in, Battalion Chief Robert Hall said.

Damage to the building and contents was estimated at $5,000, according to firefighters.
