Dec. 20--The San Luis Obispo Police Department responded Friday morning to a fire at a homeless encampment at Laguna Lake.

A fire in brush near the lake was reported at 9:07 a.m. Firefighters found a 20-by-20-foot fire in weeds and brush about 200 feet from the trail, an about a quarter-mile west of the parking lot, said Battalion Chief Neal Berryman.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in less than fifteen minutes. No one was found at the scene. The cause of the fire was a man-made campfire, Berryman said.
