Dec. 21--Stanislaus Consolidated firefighters on Friday night pulled a man from his burning home on the 200 block of Floto Street, just southeast of McHenry and Stoddard avenues.

Firefighters were dispatched at 7:32 p.m., said Battalion Chief Hugo Patino, and arrived at the scene to learn that the resident was believed to be in the small house.

Neighbors were using garden hoses to fight the fire.

The man was located and pulled out; no one else was found in the home.

CPR was performed on him, a pulse was found and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition was unavailable.

Patino said the fire was extinguished within 10 to 15 minutes of firefighters' arrival. Investigators remained on the scene; the cause had not yet been determined.
