Three N.H. Firefighters Burned at House Fire

One was flown to a Boston hospital for specialized treatment of burns.

March 03--CLAREMONT -- Three firefighters were injured battling a house fire on Cherry Hill Road Sunday night.

Claremont Fire Capt. Bryan Burr said firefighters were called to 8 Cherry Hill Road around 6:40 p.m. on reports of fire showing from a single family home.

Burr said two homeowners were inside when the fire broke out, and both escaped unharmed. The fire was reported knocked down as of 8:40 p.m.

Burr said three firefighters were injured battling the blaze, with at least one suffering severe burns. That firefighter was medflighted to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Burr couldn't provide an update on the firefighter's condition, and said he wasn't prepared to term the injuries as life threatening or non-life threatening.

A second firefighter was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care Hospital in Burlington,Vt., for treatment of burns, while a third firefighter was taken to Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont for treatment of a wrist injury.

Burr said a cause of the fire has not been determined, and that the state fire marshal's office will be involved in the investigation.
