A massive fire that has consumed a N.J. elementary school may have been deliberately set.
The fire at James Monroe Elementary in Edison quickly escalated to six alarms Saturday night.
Township police Chief Thomas Bryan said the fire was suspicious, NJ.com reported.
Bryan told reporters fire was pouring from several areas of the one-story building when fire and police personnel arrived on at the Sharp Road school shortly before 8 p.m.
A dozen firefighters were being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. There were not reports of other injuries.
