An electrical short is being blamed for a fire that destroyed two ambulances in Missouri.

The duty crew at Taney County Ambulance Station No. 6 found the fire when they went to investigate a noise, according to a release.

They were not able to remove the ambulances. There were no injuries in the 1:30 a.m. fire.

Western Taney firefighters contained the fire to the garage.

The fire marshal determined an apparent short in the 12-year-old ambulance started the fire, which caused about $500,000 damage.
