Patient Killed, EMT Hurt in Ohio Ambulance Crash

Both were ejected as the ambulance rolled.

A patient was killed and an Ohio EMT was injured in an ambulance crash.

The two were ejected after the ambulance ran off the exit ramp on I-71 , hit a guardrail and rolled over several time down an embankment, according to WBNS.

The patient was being transported from a Cleveland hospital to a Columbus hospital when the wreck happened about 11:45 p.m. Friday.

The patient was pronounced dead at the scene.  The EMT suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
