Four-Alarmer Hits Philly Warehouse

One man was severely burned in the blaze that took hours to control.

A man was severely burned in a four-alarm warehouse fire in the Kensington area of Philadelphia early Friday.

The fire went to four-alarms, and took firefighters more than two hours to deem it under control.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to CBSPhilly.com.

The warehouse is located in an area with residences and other businesses including a paper factory which caught fire and fueled the blaze that was reported at 2:30 a.m.

We went to 4-alarms which is about 33 pieces of apparatus, 120 firefighters,” says Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer told the station.

Firefighters will be on the scene for most of the day.
