Md. Firefighters Hurt in Rig Crash Along Highway

The engine from Ritchie Vol. Fire Co. was struck on the Capital Beltway in Prince George's County.

Three Md. firefighters were injured Thursday night when their rig was struck at a crash scene.

The engine from Ritchie Vol. Fire Co. was parked on the Capital Beltway when it was hit by a van about 11 p.m.

The firefighters aboard were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, fire officials said in a statement.

The civilian also was treated for injuries.

Mutual aid companies have been assisting since the wreck.
