Icy roads were reported in the Sunrise Beach area before the wreck occurred.

A fire aerial rolled on its side this morning in Sunrise Beach, MO, injuring two firefighters.

The two firefighter are in stable condition with the most serious injury appearing to be a fracture, according to a Facebook post from Dennis Reilly, chief of the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District.

“Today was a very tough day for the members of our district,” Reilly wrote in a statement. “I am very thankful to report our two members are stable and are at the hospital. …We will take whatever steps are necessary to support our folks and are hopeful that they will have a full and speedy recovery. “

Later in the afternoon, the department reported that both of the injured firefighters had been released from the hospital.

The website LakeExpo.com reported the truck was totaled when crashed on slick roads this morning on State Road MM. With the exception of the fracture, the firefighter injuries were minor, the web site reported.

Unexpected drizzle overnight hit the area around the Lake of the Ozarks on Friday causing cars to skid into ditches in the region, the web site reported.

In his statement, Reilly thanked all the agencies that responded to help at the scene.

“I would also like to thank all those who have contacted us with concerns for our members and expressions of support,” Reilly said.
