BRUCETON MILLS -- A tractor trailer crashed into a parked and emergency vehicle, which then crashed into another emergency vehicle, on I-68 Wednesday.
According to a press release, Deputy McNair, of the Preston County Sheriff's Department, and the Bruceton Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a disabled tractor trailer leaking fuel.
Willis Antonio Day Jr., 31, of Annapolis, Md., failed to merge into the passing lane and collided with McNair's 2015 Kenworth T300 fire apparatus, which rammed into the VFD vehicle.
The Kingwood Detachment of the West Virginia State Police was dispatched to the three-vehicle crash just after 5 a.m. No one was injured.
Day was cited for failure to merge while approaching an emergency vehicle, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 and/or confinement in the county or regional jail for not more than 60 days.
Due to the subsequent property damage, Day also faces a mandatory 90-day suspension of his driver's license.
