One person was killed, two are missing and 13 others injured in an explosion at a Cambria plant.

June 1--A massive explosion and fire at a Wisconsin corn milling plant early Thursday morning left one person dead and over a dozen injured.

According to WABC, two other people are missing after the blast at the Didion Milling plant in Cambria, Sherriff Dennis Richards said at a morning press conference.

Richards said 16 people were inside the facility at the time of the explosion and that only two of them walked away from the scene without injury.

The plant has multiple levels, and part of the mill complex collapsed as a result of the explosion, according to ABC.

The cause of the blast remains unclear.

More than four medical helicopters were sent to the scene, according to authorities, and over 20 local fire departments responded to battle the subsequent fire.

The mill operates around the clock, producing corn and ethanol for buyers worldwide. Didion has about 175 employees and operates four locations across Wisconsin, according to the company.
