Campus Firewatch Radio: Off-Campus Couch Fires & Campus Safety Day

This month on Campus Firewatch Radio, host Ed Comeau covers Campus Fire Safety Capitol Hill Day 2010 when advocates from across the nation gathered in Washington to talk with Congressional staffers about campus fire safety legislation moving through Congress. Listen in to see how successful the day was as a number of legislators immediately became bill co-sponsors.

Ed also talks with Lt. Amy Brow from the Ann Arbor, MI, Fire Department about the issue of couch fires on front porches in off-campus student housing. Lt. Brow researched this topic for an Executive Fire Officer paper, but the issue really hit home with a recent fatal fire that just happened in Ann Arbor that killed one student.
