Unit Citation for Fort Worth Engines 3 and 22

Firehouse.com talks with Fort Worth Fire Department Captain Larry Manasco and Jake Pennell, from Engine 22, about their actions as part of a Firehouse Heroism & Community Service Awards. Engines 3 and 22 were awarded a unit citation for their efforts in rescuing several residents of an apartment complex fire.

Then Lt. Larry Manasco, a Firehouse.com Contributing Editor, tells about the many challenges they faced when dispatched to a report of furniture on fire. Pennell talks about his actions as the first-arriving engineer and helping his crew get the duties taken care of.

They also discuss the importance of training and how a well-implemented training program helped save the lives of four people.
