Holden, LA – Knoxville, Tennessee has awarded Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., America’s premier custom fire apparatus manufacturer, a contract to build three (3) new Igniter custom pumpers. Knoxville has been operating Ferrara trucks since 2003. Protecting approximately 100 square miles, Knoxville serves 175,000 residents and numerous businesses, including the University of Tennessee.
Ferrara has had a string of successes lately. In the last quarter of 2009, the company received new apparatus orders from several large metropolitan departments, including New York, Houston, Indianapolis and Columbus.
With this latest order, the City of Knoxville will have a dozen Ferrara trucks in their fleet. “I’d like to thank Knoxville for their order,” said Ferrara President and CEO, Chris Ferrara. “One of the foundations of our company is building strong relationships with our customer, large or small. Having 12 trucks in service at KFD speaks to that fact. We build a tough, heavy duty truck and take pride in providing a level of service that matches our product.”
Ferrara Fire Apparatus manufacturers a full line of fire and emergency vehicles, including the Inferno, Igniter, Ember and Intruder 2 custom chassis, pumpers and tankers, rear and mid-mount aerial ladders and platforms, rescue and incident command vehicles, Inundator foam pumpers and the Strong Arm fire rescue vehicle. Ferrara is a leading safety innovator in the industry, offering such items as On-Site Tilt Table Testing, Crash Tested Cabs and Bodies, Complete Airbag Protection, and SmartWheel steering systems.
