St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue is proud to honor Rescue Division Chief Steven Knight as the 2009 Fire Officer of the Year. A valued member of St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue since 1996, Division Chief Knight has served the department as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Lieutenant, Training Officer, Captain of Rescue, and Rescue Division Chief.
Over the past several years, Chief Knight has demonstrated a consistent, tenacious work ethic that is second to none and is an obvious standout for his relentless pursuit of his education. Knight has his Master's Degree in Public Administration and is finishing his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction.
