An accomplished author, Gasaway is well-known in the fire service community, having published over 60 articles on fire, rescue, and leadership topics. He also wrote the Leadership chapter in the newly released book A Leadership Guide for Combination Fire Departments (Jones & Bartlett, 2008) and is co-authoring the book A Leadership Guide for Volunteer Fire Departments (Jones & Bartlett) due out later this year.
In addition to graduating from the National Fire Academy's Executive Leadership Program, Gasaway holds bachelors and masters degrees in business administration and is a doctoral student in the leadership program at Capella University. He has served as Roseville's Fire Chief since 1999.
