Motorola Solutions Foundation Honors Fallen Firefighters And Survivors
EMMITSBURG, MARYLAND – Part of the mission of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is to provide scholarships to the survivors of firefighters who died in the line of duty so they may fulfill their educational goals. A touching new video by Motorola Solutions Foundation, a longtime supporter of the NFFF’s scholarship programs, shows the profound effect this assistance has for many loved ones of the fallen. The video was made during the 2012 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, MD. See the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXjZQZQwPR0
“Very often, the firefighter who died in the line of duty was the primary earner and the family may not have the necessary funds to meet their educational and career goals,” explained Ronald J. Siarnicki, executive director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. “Through the generosity of the Motorola Solutions Foundation, we are able to provide scholarships to family members who otherwise may have had to put their dreams on hold.”
Motorola Solutions is a major supporter of the Memorial Weekend as well as other programs and fundraising events throughout the year that support the Foundation’s efforts. Motorola Solutions Foundation and Motorola Solutions partner in their desire to support the work of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the American Fire Service.
“On behalf of the Motorola Solutions employees, we salute our nation's fire service and pay tribute to the fallen firefighters who have given the ultimate sacrifice in serving their communities,” said Matthew Blakely, director of Motorola Solutions Foundation. “Motorola Solutions Foundation is privileged to team with the NFFF to assist the survivors of our fallen fire service heroes.”
