Off-Duty Pa. Firefighter Pulls Driver From Blaze

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A woman was pulled from a burning car along Route 283 westbound in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, on Wednesday morning. Around 10:30 a.m., a truck rear-ended a car near Spooky Nook Road, causing it to catch fire. Police said they think the hood of the car flew up and the 50-year-old woman driving it slammed on the brakes. Her car came to a complete stop in the left lane. A car behind her was able to swerve out of the way.
