Ind. Capt. Demoted After Public Intoxication Plea
CLARKSVILLE, Ind. --
A Clarksville fire captain will keep his job with the department but will be demoted.
A safety board issued the ruling to Gary Crowe Jr. at a hearing on Wednesday morning.
As part of his punishment, Crowe will be suspended without pay until Dec. 14.
Crowe will then be demoted to the rank of first-class firefighter and serve one year probation.
Crowe was arrested in January for a burglary charge and then again in July for a DUI charge.
He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of public intoxication, and felony charges were all dismissed.
