JEANNETTE, Pa. --
Fire Chief Randy Dubich is suspended with pay, pending the outcome of an investigation of a Jeannette woman's allegation of indecent assault.
Channel 4 Action News' Jennifer Miele reported that the woman claims to have been fondled by Dubich when she went to the fire station to apply for a job Wednesday evening.
"Jeannette police did receive a complaint from an individual of an assault that took place in City Hall involving a city employee. At that time, due to the nature of the offense involving a city employee, the investigation was turned over to the district attorney's office," Police Chief Brad Shepler said.
Dubich has not been charged with any crime. Channel 4 Action News made several unsuccessful attempts to reach him for comment on Tuesday.
Dubich was promoted to chief earlier this year and is one of three full-time firefighters. Jeannette will have to rely on part-timers while he's gone, city clerk Mike Minyon said.
"It's definitely a hit," Minyon said. "You have to figure, with the chief being suspended and us trying to fill the shifts now, it's a tough situation for the city."
