Additional 2006 SAFER Grants Announced

    Two grants were awarded to departments in the U.S. totaling more than $1 million.

    The Federal Emergency Management Agency today announced additional awards for the Fiscal Year 2006 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant (SAFER).

    Two grants from funding still available from the 2006 appropriation were made, totaling more than $1 million. Both grants went to career departments for hiring firefighters.
