On Friday, more than $14 million in Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) was awarded to 174 fire departments.
This was the 14th round of FY '07 grants awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The goal of the AFG program is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical services organizations.
