More 2006 SAFER Grants Announced

DHS today announced additional awards for the Fiscal Year 2006 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant (SAFER).

Three grants from funding still available from the 2006 appropriation were made, totaling over $1 Million. Two of the grants was to volunteer departments for recruitment and retention. The one other grant went to a career departments for hiring firefighters.
