Round 36 Grants, Second Round of Fire Prevention and Safety Grants Announced

347 grants to fire departments throughout the United States in the thirty-sixth round of the 2004 Grant Program and 18 grants to fire departments as well as national, state and local organizations in the second round of the Fire Prevention and Safety grants.

(Washington, DC) February 25, 2005 -- Secretary Michael Chertoff today announced 347 grants to fire departments throughout the United States in the thirty-sixth round of the Fiscal Year 2004 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The grants will ultimately total approximately 8,000 awards worth nearly $750 million in direct assistance to firefighters throughout the country, demonstrating Homeland Security
