Tersus Solutions Appoints Chris Chambers as General Manager of Fire and PPE Cleaning Services

Chris Chambers has been named the general manager of fire and PPE cleaning services for Tersus Solutions, bringing 16 years of industry experience.

Chris Chambers was appointed general manager of fire and PPE cleaning services by Tersus Solutions, with immediate effect. Chambers will oversee the growth of Tersus's fire and personal protective equipment (PPE) cleaning division, bringing with him 16 years of industry experience.

Chambers formerly worked at Shur Sales and Marketing, where he forged close bonds with members of the fire service community and established himself as a reliable source for fire departments around the country. In his new position, he will assist scale Tersus's cutting-edge CO2 cleaning technology across the nation, manage strategic growth projects and strengthen ties with fire departments and independent service providers (ISPs).

“Chris is exactly the kind of person we need to accelerate our growth in the fire service industry,” said Peter Whitcomb, CEO of Tersus Solutions. “His deep relationships, credibility and firsthand understanding of what firefighters need from their gear make him uniquely qualified to lead this division. We're fortunate to have him on the team as we work to bring cleaner, healthier gear to more firefighters and extend the life of the equipment they depend on every day.”

"Having spent my last 16 years of my career alongside the fire service, I understand how essential clean, well-maintained gear is to firefighter health and safety," said Chambers. "Tersus' CO2 cleaning technology represents a significant advancement in the field. It removes contaminants that conventional methods leave behind while preserving the integrity of the protective barriers in turnout gear. At Tersus, I look forward to helping more departments and independent service providers expand access to this technology and continuing my commitment to fire safety, a commitment that has been a passion of mine throughout my career.”

Tersus's exclusive liquid CO2 cleaning method is intended to eliminate dangerous impurities, such as carcinogens, that are deeply ingrained in firefighter turnout gear, helmets, hoods and gloves. The CO2 approach, in contrast to conventional water-based cleaning techniques, is kind to protective textiles, enhancing gear safety requirements and prolonging its useful life. This enables fire departments to extend the life of equipment, lower or even eliminate replacement expenses, and lessen the exposure of firefighters to dangerous chemicals associated with higher cancer rates in the industry.

"After 16 years together, it's hard to put into words what Chris Chambers has meant to Shur Sales and Marketing and to me personally," said Ken Bush, CEO of Shur Sales and Marketing. "I've had the privilege of watching him grow, succeed, take on challenges and become a very important part of what we built together. While I'm sorry to see him leave, I'm proud of the professional and person he is. Tersus is gaining someone who knows this industry, understands what firefighters need, and has earned the trust of the departments he's served. He'll be a tremendous asset to Tersus and to the fire community as a whole. I wish Chris nothing but success in this next chapter. He will always be part of the legacy of our team and family, and I'll always be grateful for the 16 years we had the privilege to work together."
