WALNUT CREEK, CA – Tablet Command, an emergency response and management solution for the fire service, has hired distinguished fire service professional Jake Pelk as Vice President of Sales and Customer Success.

Pelk will focus on leading the sales team to continue educating fire service leaders about Tablet Command’s software capabilities, while also working closely with support and development to ensure customer satisfaction and success. He will also serve as a speaker at key industry events, such as the upcoming Fire-Rescue International conference in Orlando, August 13-15, alongside CEO & Co-Founder William Pigeon.

A fire service professional with more than 30 years of experience, Pelk began his career as a volunteer firefighter in Boulder Creek, California, in 1992. He most recently retired as Assistant Chief of the Sacramento Fire Department. Earlier in his career, he served with the Central County Fire Department in San Mateo County, holding roles that included firefighter/paramedic, training officer, captain, and battalion chief. His experience spans technical rescue, wildland firefighting, USAR deployments, and operations across multiple agencies—from volunteer organizations to a major metropolitan fire department.

“After three decades of fire service experience, I'm excited for this new opportunity to share with the Tablet Command team and other fire service professionals all that I’ve learned,” says Pelk. “Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact the software has had on first responders and public safety, as a whole.”

He has also served as the Vice President for the Cal Chiefs Northern California Training Section, as well as the FEMA Search Team Manager (California Task Force 3), and has included deployments to Hurricane Katrina and, more recently, the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles. He was also honored with the esteemed “Ed Bent Award” (California Instructor of the Year) by California Training Officers.

“Assistant Chief Pelk’s passion and commitment to the fire service are undeniable,” says William Pigeon, CEO & Co-Founder of Tablet Command. “We’re fortunate to have him - a respected fire service leader who also has a deep understanding of Tablet Command.”
