Sept. 9, 2024

James Island is looking for a “dedicated and experienced” chief to lead the fire department.

The search for the next chief comes months after Thomas Glick left the department after his arrest for driving under the influence, WCBD reported.

The chief also serves as the director of emergency management and oversees emergency preparedness and response efforts.

The department operates four stations on the island, serving more than 10,000 homes and businesses.
