An Angelina River firefighter working at a wildfire was struck after he ran a stop sign while on an ATV on Sunday, according to KTRE-TV.

Firefighter Anthony Quinten Meyers, 38, was involved in the collision with Game Warden Justin Charles Eddins' pickup truck at approximately 3:15 p.m. on CR 32 in Jasper County.

Fire crews were battling the Ebenezer Complex Fire around County Roads 39 and 32 that burned over 50 acres.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
