Dallas Firefighter Unresponsive Inside Station

A Dallas firefighter was found unresponsive inside a station Thursday morning and later died, according to The Dallas Morning News. Firefighter Chris Pham, 35, was found in his bunk during the morning shift change by colleagues at Station 49 on South Hampton Road. They began to administer CPR and he was transported to Methodist Charlton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

They began to administer CPR and he was transported to Methodist Charlton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

"He was a bright and shining star and a future leader of our department," Fire Chief Eddie Burns said during a press conference.

The cause Pham's death is not known at this time and the Dallas County medical examiner is expected to release autopsy results on Friday.

Officials said the death of the five-year veteran does not appear to be suspicious.
