Responding N.C. Firefighter Killed in Crash

A North Carolina firefighter was killed Thursday in a crash while responding to an emergency.David Hunsinger Jr., 23, was a firefighter with Tar Heel Fire Department, according to the USFA.He was the son of Tar Heel Chief David Hunsinger Sr.In an e-mail news release to local media, Bladen County Fire Marshal Bradley Kinlaw said, "Firefighters from around the county and state were on hand at Bladen County Hospital to pay their respects as their brother firefighter was brought into the facility."

The seven-year firefighter was headed to a brush fire when the collision occurred, according to the USFA.
