Ky. Fire Captain Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

Capt. Worne Hall began experiencing chest pain while readying a landing zone for a medical helicopter.
A veteran captain with the Hitchins Volunteer Fire Department died of an apparent heart attack earlier today, according to WSAZ-TV.

Capt. Worne Hall, 86, had responded to a reported ATV rollover shortly after 2 p.m. when he began experiencing chest pain while readying the landing zone for a medical helicopter.

Crews began treatment and he was transported to King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland where we was pronounced dead.

Hall is survived by his wife and two adult children and served with the department for close to nearly 35 years.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
