Funeral Held for Fallen Ga. Fire Chief
The Gresston Community Volunteer Fire Department including family, friends and firefighters from all over Georgia showed up at the Dodge County High School to show their respect for volunteer Fire Chief Jay Brown.
Brown was a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years.
On Monday, Brown was rushed to Dodge County Hospital after he suffered a massive heart attack while he was cleaning up storm damage.
After the service at the high school, fire engines, police cars and several other emergency vehicles was seen for miles as the procession arrived at the Greeston Baptist Church Cemetery where the chief received full fire department honors and the last call was sounded.
Units from the surrounding areas of Greeston including Macon-Bibb, Camden County, Kings Bay, Fulton County, Forsyth, Georgia Department of Corrections Fire, Southside Fire in Savannah & Hortense showed support.
