Larry Suiter, 65, was chief of Lorraine Green Garden Fire Department in Lorraine.
The USFA reported that on Sept. 3, Suiter responded to an anhydrous ammonia leak at a grain elevator.
After returning home, he died of an undetermined cause.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lorraine Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Military honors for the former Marine will be conducted by the Holyrood American Legion, and last call ceremony will be led by the Lorraine Volunteer Fire Department.
Memorials may be given to the Lorraine Baptist Church or Lorraine Fire Dept., in care of the funeral home, Box 45, Ellsworth, KS.
