A Wellsboro firefighter died at his home on Dec. 26 after responding to a series of EMS and fire calls, according to the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
Clair Melvin Pierce., 68, was the past chief of the Wellsboro Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Wellsboro Firemen’s Ambulance Association.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Joan Allen Pierce; sons, Michael Pierce and Clair Melvin Pierce III; daughters Tammy Frank, Joan Huck; grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, Jordan, Emily, Rayann, Clair Pierce IV, Glen, Brandon and Shawn Pierce, Teaka and Tess Frank, Jessica, Tyler and Katelyn Huck; sister, Kitty Jones.

Funeral Arrangements
Visitation for fire service personnel will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 6 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street., Wellsboro, Pa.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Wellsboro Cemetery.
