Vermont Firefighter Ejected, Killed in Crash

An East Charleston, Vt. volunteer firefighter was killed yesterday in a fire truck rollover.

An accident yesterday afternoon in East Charleston claimed the life of a volunteer firefighter.

Police say 55-year old Kenneth Frizzell of Charleston was killed when his fire truck rolled over on Dane Hill Road, near the intersection of Route 105.

Police say Frizzell was returning from a call when he lost control on a steep hill and hit a telephone pole. Frizzell was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.

The DMV is expected to do an inspection of the tanker truck today.

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation for Firefighter Frizzell will be held Thursday, Sept. 3 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel, 37 Lake Road, Newport, Vt.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church in East Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
