A Canadian firefighter collapsed and died at a fire scene last week near Quebec.

Firefighter Rosaire Sergerie, 63, suffered an apparent heart attack shortly after arriving on a fire scene. His colleagues performed CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive, according to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

However, he died a short time later. Sergerie was a 30-year veteran of the Mont-Joli Fire Department, a paid on call company with 24 firefighters and a full-time chief.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
